In our drive to create something innovative & valuable,
we’re cultivating new engagement models that enable deeper
relationships with our clients. ___
Over the last two years we’ve learned a lot about working with startups,
and we’re excited to see our engagement models evolve. In the coming
months you’ll hear more about our first revenue-share engagement on a
product design.
This gets us thinking more about mission in business, and some of the
most successful mission-driven organizations we know, like Digital
Opportunity Trust, making social entrepreneurship work for underserved
communities around the world. Also lately we’re going deep in exploring
ambient interface, using prototypes as design research to learn more
about the technology and explore the human-computer behaviors of this
new style of interaction.

Interactive Light: Protoyping Environmental Interfaces of the
Future ___
A while back, we published a concept exploring the notion of projecting
computer information into our workspaces -- a setup that would allow us
to interact with virtual content without necessarily having a computer
in front of us.
This summer, we decided to put some of those theories to test as a
working prototype. Our first exploration with Interactive Light is a
version of the vintage air hockey table game. All you see is the light
projected into the space. You play the game with any ordinary object --
and the interaction is delightful. Watch the video here.

Digital Opportunity Trust Scales Programs for Social Impact ___
We wrapped up a global field research program with Digital Opportunity
Trust, speaking with social entrepreneurs in Tanzania, Jordan, and
Ghana to test out the new platforms we designed to help DOT scale
social enterprise programs.
DOT supports growth opportunities through social enterprise by
mobilizing the talent, creativity, and energy of youth around the
world. We’re excited by our work to help them expand youth development
programs into new communities. Read about the work here.

Tenor Launches New Brand & SDK ___
The first of our work with Tenor, maker of the popular GIF Keyboard,
hit the streets only weeks ago. Along with Supan Group, we partnered
with this startup (previously called Riffsy) to help craft a new name
for their company, a brand, and a product strategy that represents
Tenor’s mission of helping people communicate emotions through video.
We’re eager to see additional progress on the platform strategy and
interface design roll out over the coming months. The company recently
released a new development kit to allow developers to integrate Tenor
features into third-party apps.
